Cleaning & Caring for Your Mill

The amazing thing about these stone mills is when cared for, they can be heirlooms and passed down through generations. For daily use, you want to wipe away the flour dust from the exterior of the mill, brush the interior with a pastry brush, and keep the area clean. Bi-weekly you want to use an air compressor and get all the flour out, add a new bay leaf in the area and deep clean. Seasonally you can run rice through your mill to clean the stones. There’s also redressing stones but that generally applies for larger stones.
